思春期の感情を抱きしめて疾走するバンド、ADOY

ADOY（アドイ）は、シンセポップを基盤に音楽性と大衆性を同時に兼ね備えた稀に見るバンドである。ADOYの音楽が連想させるものはとても単純で直感的なものだ。夏、海、波、サーフィン、公園、走ること、夜の空気、ビール、タバコ、おしゃべり、といった、しばし思い浮かべるだけで気分が良くなるようなもの。そこに、旅行、夢、未来、失敗、孤独、のような、少し複雑な裏話を持ったイメージも加わってくる。2017年のEP『CATNIP』、2018年のEP『LOVE』は洗練されたサウンドとメロディーで韓国内の音楽関係者とファンから大好評を得て、結成間もなくして、多くのライブ出演依頼が殺到し、バンドとしての地位を確立した。2019年に1stフルアルバムの『VIVID』を発表したADOYは、韓国のみならず、タイ、台湾、日本、香港、フィリピン、シンガポール、ベトナムまで活動範囲を広げ、彼らだけのカラーが際立ったライブを披露した。コロナ禍で活動が制限された期間にも、新作EP『her』を発表し、アメリカツアーを行うなど、ADOYは止まることなく、彼らの速度で走り続けている。

A band running with the spirit of youth, ADOY

ADOY is one of those rare bands whose synthpop roots make them both musical and accessible. Their music evokes very simple and intuitive things. Summer, the ocean, waves, surfing, parks, running, night air, beer, cigarettes, chatting, things that feel good just by thinking about them for a moment. Add to that images with a more complex backstory: travel, dreams, the future, mistakes, loneliness. With their 2017 EP "CATNIP" and 2018 EP album "LOVE", the band quickly became the number one band to book for performances, receiving great responses from musicians and fans at home and abroad with their well-polished sound and melodies. With the release of "VIVID" in 2019, ADOI has now expanded its radius beyond Korea to Thailand, Taiwan, Japan, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore, and Vietnam, where they showcased their unique colorful live performances. Even while everything came to a halt due to the corona pandemic, ADOY released a new album, "HER," and went on a U.S. tour, continuing to run at their own pace.
