ヴォーカリスト、チョン・ホンイルは、長年にわたってヘビーメタルバンド、BARKHOUSEのフロントマンとして活動し（1998〜2020年）、バンド脱退後、JTBCのオーディション番組「シングアゲイン」シーズン1で準優勝したことがきっかけとなり、その名を知られるようになった。

ロックをメインとしたヴォーカリストでありながら、多様な表現力を備えた歌唱を長所としており、ロックを基盤にしつつソウルの気品を強く生かし、自分だけのヴォーカル美学を披露するロックヴォーカリストだという評価を得ている。

また、大衆音楽のカラーをミックスした細やかなロック音楽を通して、一般リスナーによりいっそう接近している。

2020年、慶南音楽創作所の音盤助成事業を通して制作されたチョン・ホンイルのソロ名義では初となるEP『숨 쉴 수만 있다면（息することさえできれば）』 をリリースし、「모난 돌멩이（角ばった石ころ）」、 「Days in the dark」、 「내 생에 봄날은（私の人生の春の日は）」、 「동행（同行）」等、多数のドラマのサウンドトラック収録曲やデジタル・シングル「손에 닿지 않는 기억（触れられない記憶）」、「그늘（その日）」等もリリースした。

この他にも「シングアゲイン」のスピンオフ番組「有名歌手戦」を通じて多数の音源がリリースされている。

今回の日本でのショーケースでは、より一層多様で幅広いロック音楽と大衆的な音楽を披露する予定だ。ショーケースを通じて、韓国のロック・バンドに対して肯定的で強い魅力を伝えることができることを期待している。

In 2020, Jung Hong-il's first solo EP album "If I Can Breathe" was released through the Gyeongnam Music Studio Music Support Project, He has released OSTs for many dramas such as 'Angular Stone', 'Days in the dark', 'Springtime in my life', and 'Companion', as well as digital singles such as 'Memories out of reach' and 'Shade'. 
In addition, he has also released a number of songs through famous singers. 
In this Japanese showcase, we will present a wider variety of rock music and popular music. Through this, we hope to convey the positive and strong appeal of Korean rock bands.
